Volunteer work and rescue service
A visual showcase of my hands-on dedication to animal welfare, equine care, and clinic assistance throughout Pueblo and surrounding Colorado communities. Each experience represents a vital step along my journey toward veterinary medicine.

Mini Angel Eyes rescue
During my volunteer service at Mini Angel Eyes, I took on daily responsibilities vital to equine health and recovery. My duties included managing nutritional feeding schedules, thoroughly sanitizing and cleaning stalls, and administering daily oral medications to resident ponies and horses. This steady routine sharpened my work ethic and deepened my understanding of large animal rehabilitation.

Clinical and behavioral growth
Working in rescue environments provided invaluable pre-vet clinical insights. I gained hands-on experience calming stressed equines, identifying early symptoms of colic, and assisting with urgent interventions. Crucially, I developed the patience required to build trusting bonds with horses that had experienced difficult pasts and were initially fearful of human contact.

The story of Piper
My dedication to veterinary medicine was solidified through a horse named Piper. While caring for her at the rescue, we established a profound mutual trust, which ultimately led me to adopt her and bring her home. The unbreakable bond formed with animals in need remains the driving force behind my pursuit of a career in veterinary healthcare.
